Thorax Bridge

In collaboration me and Niermala Timmers were asked to design a bridge. Our vision for the bridge is to create an extraordinary and artistic landmark that gives crossing traffic a special experience. The structure of the human ribcage inspired us to create the ‘Thorax Bridge’. This model is constructed out of transparent tubes, with green liquid inside, inspired by blood the human bloodstream.

In result of our design, we have been invited to present the Thorax Bridge at the opening of the exhibition ‘Zwolle Over Bruggen’ in the presence of the City Council Nelleke Vedelaar and designer Paul Wintermans of ‘Quist Wintermans Architekten’, who designed the new railway bridge ‘Hanzeboog’ in Zwolle.
